Come to the opening night and see our final exhibit for Book arts and design at LCC!
Guests need to either print off a copy or show on their phone to gain entry
Made another book! Tried something new this time. Coptic binding with some chain knots in a little design.
The paper I used for the cover has golden birds printed at uneven intervals, and every time I make something with it I somehow manage to cut it so that I have birds on the BACK but not on the FRONT.
lovely
This is another scrapbook I made in relation to a piece of writing I had to submit for uni. This is a development of the previous Amsterdam scrapbook I recently uploaded photos of. This one is much smaller, and just generally nicer and better in every way. It’s more delicate and (hate to say it) cute. The pages are made of copies of vintage Amsterdam maps I have accumulated. I made the book as a pocket book so you can put souvenirs and keepsake inside it as well as write in it too.
We are very excited to share this new range of Letterpress Papers from Rossi!
The History of Letterpress
“Developed in the 14th century, letterpress printing involves setting type and motifs in reverse on a letterpress plate. The plate is then inked and pressed onto the surface of a paper. The pressing process transfers the ink and leaves a deep impression on the paper creating a three dimensional print that has a
feel unlike any other type of printing”.-Rossi

A beautiful edition of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “The Imp of the Perverse,” designed by Helen Friel. The reader must tear and fold the pages to be able to properly read the book.
I love Poe :D

I had the pleasure of working with some wonderful children today at the Pound Arts arts centre in Corsham. They had great ideas and produced amazing books. I love days like today!
It was the first time I have been to Pound Arts; it’s great venue with lovely staff www.poundarts.org.uk
Awwww!!!!!!! I would love to make books with children.
‘Cuts’ (2010)
Japanese stab bind book.
Paper, thread, ink.
Some ‘extra bits’ that went with my main ‘Cafe Society’ zine/book: a little concertina photo book with a belly band in the style of the protector sleeves you get on take out coffee cups, although I’m not sure how much that comes across.
And a series of postcards that detail the totals at the end of the 30 days, using the different cup designs to distinguish between different coffee chains. A lot of people didn’t really ‘get’ that different chains have different cups… but my mum understood immediately, which probably explains where my caffeine problem stems from.
On the blog today, I made another post about The Twritten Word, including a few personal thoughts and feelings about how everything’s going with it. I highly suggest you check it out! (But then again, I always highly suggest you check it out.)

A pocket sized print exhibition so that you will never be caught short if you need some inspiration or relaxation. Each guide features a concertina of intaglio prints and an exhibition guide in a slip on heavy paper cover. There are 8 prints in each exhibition. Each print is unique and so each exhibition is different.
This is a variable edition of 10.
Size closed in case 9.5 x 6 x 1 cm.
Concertina open 42 x 6 x 1 cm.

I have all these books I made I meant to show tumblr. This is a binding of the Tao Te Ching, Stephen Mitchell’s translation which is really lovely. I printed a quote from verse 44 on the front:
Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking,
the whole world belongs to you.I gifted this one to a friend. If anyone wants one for free, I’d love to make some more. Just give me a message.
What a nice gift!
